2009 is gone and 2010 is here. We'd like to wish our clients and the entire NYC area a Happy New Year. To kick the new year off right, we've made some changes to our website and we will be making some organizational changes as well to better service our clients. Another year has past, and what better way to celebrate than with a NYC Party Bus? New York City has so much to offer in the way of ringing in the New Year. From the looks of things people are booking up most of the available limo buses in the metro area. Its been a rough year and New Yorkers are trying to get trough it the best they can.
We have been selling out of the larger party buses and now most of our smaller 18 to 24 passenger limo buses are sold out as well. All of our limousines are booked out and even our sedan fleet is active this weekend. If you haven't reserved yet there are still deals to be made as the New Year draws closer. We have been booking alot of after New Years Eve work, people are looking to extend the party to the early hours and are looking for limos and party buses for their travel needs.

Starting June 1st, 2009 New York State has imposed a sales tax of 8.375% on all limousines, vans and sedans which can carry more than 14 people.
New York limo companies where given no more than 3 weeks notice of the change, and it will have a big impact on the limo business in New York State and City. We are still reeling, trying to find all the details of the tax and how to properly charge and account for it. Believe it or not, a tax such as this is not something that a business can easily adjust to. Sales reps now have to be aware of what rides are taxable, back office staff needs to account for and report the tax collected. It is a big imposition to small companies; most small limo companies don't even want to deal with the hassles of credit cards let alone collecting taxes.
Already customers are balking at an added 8 cents on the dollar. Since the tax is only on vehicles of 14 passengers or less, we may see a rise in SUV limos which can hold over 14 and still provide a luxurious ride. The tax is also hitting vans and sedans, which will have an impact on the corporate market. A ride to a NYC airport in a sedan or limo will now cost 8% more. The tax is only imposed on rides that start and end in NY, so a ride to Newark from NYC wont be taxable. It's actually a very confusing tax law.
Party and Limo buses as well as charter buses are exempt from the tax, so we are expecting to see a rise in the party bus market in NYC.

You know things are screwed up when even a tv show that's not even live takes a week off. There was no new Rock of Love Bus this past weekend, I guess VH1 decided to give us the break; even though they did show a repeat.
Usually when VH1 doesn't show a new episode it means that there's something big on a another channel. I couldn't find anything that special on so I'm thinking that as the show winds down, VH1 starts to stretch it out for all that it's worth. I think that they are down to three girls now, so it is nearing the final stretch for the one-trick ponies. Brett will have to make his final decision soon, with three girls left, in two episodes the whole nightmare should be over. This is his third try, the first two times obviously didn't work out. It's sad to expect the same from this time; will he really find love? Does he even care? Do we even care?
In these trying times, we love to watch others and live vicariously through the rich and famous. I know people who are struggling to pay their mortgage, meanwhile poor Brett Michaels has to choose between 10 gorgeous girls while he travels around on a half a million dollar bus, the poor bastard. No less he's old enough to be these girls father. I sincerely hope Brett finds love this time, I can not bare to see his dumb ass try this again.
